I want to hear what you guys think of the incumbent United States President, Donald J. Trump.

Give us your opinion of the job he's doing, if you like him or not [and why/why not].

i know nothing about politics but

how did we let this happen
how did he make it to the top

I’m a pretty die hard member of the GOP, and my feelings about trump have been mixed so far. First of all, I think Donald Trump is a terrible person. I wouldn’t go so far as to call him a racist, but I understand why people hate him. On the other side, I think he has done an excellent job as president and has stuck to many of his campaign promises. If there was one thing I could change, it would be the tweeting. I believe that he should definitely tweet less. He’s really a pretty inclusive president and the only thing he’s ever done that was offensive to the LGBT community was not allow transgender people in the military. He has done a great job with our economy and seeing as Nikki Haley has declined to run in 2020, I will continue to support trump until her inevitable campaign.

im not sure what to call myself, i have different views on everything socially (lgbt, abortion, etc) but i also have a handful of conservative views, i don't like donald trump nor do i support him but if i was 18 i would've voted for him, i'd rather die than vote for hillary and i know no one else was close to winning, i strongly dislike him but i need to respect the fact that he's my president :/. idk if this is coherent or if i used the right words but yeah. oops

I do think it's important to note that Trump was one of the earlier celebrities to proclaim their support for gay rights.
Since around 2006, Trump did publicise the homosexual candidates on his television show, The Apprentice.

I like him as a person; as for being a President, I don't know how to feel yet.

I'd be called a 'neo-convervative', politically, meaning that my economic and social views align towards general conservatism - but smaller elements of political identity may be looked upon as more progressive than a traditional Republican (in fields such as transportation).

Conservative or not, I've always identified with the Republican Party; for holding consistent views, regardless of the outstanding wake, and the historic value possessed by Republican identities.

Bill Clinton was just terrible, as was Hillary - politically speaking. Clinton's economic policy paved the way for what we observed in economic instability during '07; the Clinton Administration resulted in degradation towards black communities, and he was an incivil adulterer.

This is accurate.

R. Samuels and J. Johnson, reporting for WaPo

“Are you a homosexual, Clay?” Trump asked in an exchange that was caught on camera.

When Lee said yes, Trump seemed welcoming. “I like steak. Someone else likes spaghetti,” Trump remarked, according to Lee. “That’s why we have menus in restaurants.”

Above, WaPo

After completing a 2005 boardroom scene for “The Apprentice,” Trump told the show’s first openly gay competitor that he saw advantages in hiring gays in his business.

“I love having gay people work for me; they are the most trustworthy people, especially around women,” Clay Lee recalled Trump saying to him. Trump’s logic, according to Lee: With so many women around his modeling agency, the businessman worried about straight employees harassing them. “I can’t afford to have that liability,” Trump added, according to Lee.

You're probably Neocon (neo-conservative) or Libertarian-right, in that regard.

He’s really a pretty inclusive president and the only thing he’s ever done that was offensive to the LGBT community was not allow transgender people in the military.

This ban was covered very poorly by the media.

  1. For starters, this doesn't necessarily 'ban transgenders' - rather, it bans those who have undergone or wish to undergo sex reassignment surgery.
  2. The ban allows for the Pentagon to readily make exemptions; sometimes, without even citing a necessity to do so.
  3. I don't think Trump proposed this as an anti-LGBT action - because, as stated earlier, nothing really goes to show that he has any anti-LGBT motive (if anything, he's supportive). Rather, it was under the circumstance of military funding towards the medical procedures of gender reassignment.

I don't like him.
He acts like a child, and isn't afraid to piss people off.
Some people may say that's just to "push the boundaries," and to challenge political correctness, but honestly, it's just embarrassing.
It shows a lack of maturity and professionalism, and since he's the leader of the United States, that immaturity rubs off on the American people.
But, as long as he doesn't get us nuked, I guess I'll put up with him.
